Registration Process on StudIP for Courses at the English Department
This information is important if you want to register for any of the courses listed below. They have special registration requirements because there is more than one group for each course type. Students may only register for one group of each course type.
These courses have multiple groups and are open to students in their first semester:
- Introduction to Literary Studies
- Introduction to Linguistics
- Introduction to Academic Writing and Research
- Vocabulary and Pronunciation.
Registration begins on 01.10.2014 and ends on 16.10.2014.
These courses have multiple groups and are available to students in later semesters:
- Introduction to English Teaching
- Theories and Methods of Literary Studies
Registration begins on 01.10.2014 and ends on 12.10.2014.
Students may register for more than one group for the course:
Registration begins on 22.09.2014 and ends on 06.10.2014.
What are registration sets?
Registration sets are courses that are grouped together because they are similar to each other and often cover similar topics. You are only allowed to register for one course and group in a registration set. (The only exception to this is LingF4 because you can register for both of its courses.) You may, however, enter a preference for a particular course group on the StudIP platform. The end of the registration period is different for each registration set. Once the registration period ends, StudIP assigns students their course places.
